Searching For Shangri-La project still frame

Exiled out of Himalayan High Society and estranged from his affluent father, a small town New England kid looks to his past.

Gesar Dorji is a freelance filmmaker and photographer based in Brooklyn, New York. He is originally from the Kingdom of Bhutan in the Himalayas. He was trained in Digital Filmmaking at NYU. He has received a BA in TV and Internet Media From Lynn University (Class of 2014) as well as his Masters in Documentary Film at CCNY. He has been mentored under Emmy Award winning experimental filmmaker Alan Berliner (Nobody’s Business) and Acclaimed Documentary Filmmaker Doug Block (51 Birch Street). His work has been screened at the prestigious Slamdance film festival and Miami Short Film Festival as a Cinematographer for the short film Ocean Five (2014).
